Sylver, I suggest that you use your google search engine and type acanthosis nigricans in and hit enter. Once the selections are presented, click on Images at the top above the topic listing. There are many pictures, but near the bottom are a few of the ankles and feet.

While there is no cure for acanthosis nigricans, losing weight may improve the skin condition. Acanthosis nigricans usually precedes diabetes and is considered to be a marker for the disease. There are other health conditions that also are known to cause acanthosis of the skin and these include acromegaly and Cushing syndromes. It is thought that this health condition is a skin manifestation of insulin resistance.

Shanny and skb like this.

Nevermind - I got it by using a different browser.

None of my efforts has worked to edit these too-large images as thumbnail images, so would another mod please see what can be done to fix it? They are way too big to allow the thread to develop normally, but every time I try to upload them as thumbnails, our software says they're invalid.

And that being said, here are the instructions for properly posting photographs:

Is your pinky toe red. Certainly looks like what I had 20 years ago except mine was in different places and I'm lighter complexion so it wasn't that dark. mine went away when I lost weight.

I'm not a doctor but you might want to get it checked out. I worried about infection in my feet, and my doctor said that you might want to get i checked out if you have red, or blue places. Is it swollen, it kinda looks like it might be. Better safe than sorry.
