Check to be sure you get a brand which is high in eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), and has been treated to remove contaminants like mercury & dioxins.

I like the mint flavoured ones. When you burp, there is on fishy taste. "mint flavored fish oil" in google.

Talon, I had two stents put into my heart this past march and the very next day got my Diabetes diagnosis. After a few weeks of following the dietician's advice, i quickly realised that the only thing it did was to keep my BG levels high. I quickly researched forums and eventually found this forums and the LCHF lifestyle.

I was, like you, sceptical about the HF part of the diet. I thought that it would place too much of a burden of my already weak heart but eventually I gave in and started doing both LC and HF as opposed to your current method of LC LF. I now have tons more energy and my daily 1 mile walks are now up to 7-10 miles and I now also cycle 7-20 miles at least once a week.

My numbers are excellent... in fact, my cholesterol level is lower than the quoted range that people are supposed to fall within! My full numbers are on this forum somewhere but suffice to say, my numbers are all now within the normal ranges or better. Ultimately, you have to decide what is best for you and won't preach one method over another but I will say that the others are correct....you can't do both LC and LF and expect to have energy.

That HpKpp sounds like a bundle of joy!

Hey Dude, Thanks for the support.. Here at the beginning of Jan 2012 I have an appointment scheduled with a popular nutricionalist. Something's got to change for the better. I've always been active and in fair health. Just high stress occupations and a type A personality.

HpKpp I wouldn't wish it on no one. It's genetic so I've dealt with it all my life and not knowing it until I was accurately diagnosed in the mid-nineties. It was so unknown it was always missed diagnosed as the symptoms came up.

In 91, I went super V-tac maintained 250 plus beats per minute for 10 hours. Got medi vac'd to the big city where they stopped and re-started my heart to get me to convert to normal rhythm.. They were all about accusing me for steroid usage etc. (never ever) Had me stop weight training put me on heart medications.

Yesterday I started the Carlson's fish oil recommended here, and it is lemon-flavoured. It still has that fish-oily consistency, but I can put up with that for the benefit and also the lack of fishy taste. They recommend keeping it in the fridge so that's what I'm doing, but it doesn't change anything much.

I agree that HpKpp is not something to wish on anyone (not even my mother-in-law) . Furthermore, isn't it simply amazing that doctors automatically assume that we patients MUST be doing something wrong to put get us in our present situations... not that it could be something hereditary or rare that THEY missed?
