Default I won a bet with my Doctor

When I was DX in Feb of this year my A1C was 12.1 last week I took some blood work and my doc said he would happy to see my A1C in the 8.0 for the first time. I told him I aiming for better. I told him I am looking at 6 or lower. The bet was just gentleman bet but I was aiming to show him hard work can really work. Got the results and my new A1C it is 6.3 He was happy and I did not have to pay my next co pay LOL We all know diet and working out and having support from friends and family are important. But it can be done. My DX was a wake up call and now I am helping friends and coworkers to be healthy. Please don't thinking about giving up, have faith in yourself be positive the numbers will come down. I had bad weeks and was feeling depressed but one day at a time and be positive AND IT WILL HAPPEN

Nice work, Steve! And I hope your doc begins to see the efficacy of your methods.

Great job Steve keep up the good work. I try to help anyone that will listen. My husbands A1C went from a 12.3 to a 5.7 in 3 months and he has been med free almost 3 months. When people hear that they will usually listen, take notes and ask questions. It sure make ya feel good when people listen and give it a try then call to tell you how great their numbers are. I would have never learned myself if it wasn't for the Great people on this forum. I just ordered 8 books from amazon just so I can learn more to help others. Life is Great! Congrats!!

Excellent work, Steve. Anytime a doc pays attention to what we are doing without criticizing our efforts is a good day!

Good job with the A1c Steve!

Although I think getting a doctor to not bill your co-pay is the more astonishing accomplishment. For your sake I hope he isnít working on a way to get it back later.
