I took my dose of Lantus. Trouble is in my hand was my Apidra pen! Yep. 35 units of a Apidra on a night I had to go into work, no less! Well eight or 10 cans of pop later and twice as many trips to the bathroom I survived having only my blood sugar drop about 20 points. I will never do that again.

Tip: Mark your dosage on that little indentation in the pen across from the numbers with a sharpie. Then you scroll the pen until the numbers match or come close (if you're varying dosage) and you'll never do what I just did.

Good suggestion! I have a case with only elastic loop ... so my Novolog pen is always harder to get to!

My Levemir dose is 4 + 4 + 7U, so I NEVER have to give myself that much too much, which also helps ...

I used to put a rubber band around my Apidra pen... Then I took 35 IU of apidra instead of my lantus (as you did) Then I put my Apidra in an aluminum cigar tube, havent mixed them up since
