Default what to do with extra insulin?

I have accumulated surplus bottles of Apidra insulin and kept it refrigerated. My doctor and the local JDRF chapter will not accept it because it is a prescription drug.

I would like to do something with it besides throw it away. Does anyone have an idea on what I could possibly do with it?

We have a 'free' pharmacy nearby, so search for one in your area maybe?

When my mom passed away we called our local free clinic to check if they could take it. They accepted all her insulin, needles, meters and testing supplies happily
