I used to have issues with high BG levels in the morning and occasionally still do although I know what's causing them. I discovered eating less for your final meal of the day made a big difference as well as not snacking at least 2 hours before bed time.

At first it was tough because I was always going to bed hungry but overtime when this behavior got more habitual the hunger went away and my BG levels really turned around.

Just based on my personal experience it's probably not healthy going to bed on a full stomach as that food will metabolize during the most inactive time of the evening.
