Default One Touch strips: no more Amazon

Okay, I have to be hit over the head before learning a lesson. Bought 100 One Touch blue strips some time ago, and they came in 4 boxes of 25 strips. One container was badly flawed, showing 145 but strip from other box showed 102. Same results from another box.

Bought more from another Amazon seller and first box was good. Next box same thing--outrageously high numbers.

Kicking myself and just bought from Walmart.

Let us know the results from those strips from Walmart.

By badly flawed, do you mean the box or bottle was damaged or that you BG number test results from the strips were squirrelly?

No, not that kind of flaw. I meant horribly inaccurate. For the past months of LCHF diet, I get consistent readings of 95-105 from strips in one jar. but the second jar am getting 140-150.

I kept a few strips from the first container and showed 102.

Tossing them and angry I bought from Amazon. The first clue should have been when they took a month to get her. Probably from China and likely counterfeit.

Maybe check your Amazon order and see if the strips listed from the manufacturer and were fulfilled by Amazon or if they were listed as coming from a third party. Either way, I would complain to Amazon. I'd think it would be less likely to be counterfeit if it was fulfilled by Amazon.

There are definitely third party scammers using Amazon, I've seen $20 stuff with a price listed 4 or 5 times higher and wonder how does Amazon let that get thru?

It may also be that the strips were stored improperly at one point and that affected their accuracy. Or the seller may not even know. Those who advertise that they'll buy peoples' leftover strips likely have no idea how the sellers stored those strips -- and I'm sure they'd just as soon not ask.

I guess if you can save, say, 2/3 compared to the regular price you pay for a vial of strips, over time you can toss an obviously bad vial and still be ahead financially. But if one were depending on those strips for dosing or hypos, well, it's a matter of how much financial choice you have in the matter. I'm sorry this didn't work out for you.

I'm 80 and a widower with other health problems and mostly housebound so buy a LOT of things from Amazon. Rarely a problem even with things from China.

But important items related to health is perhaps not worth it.
