My diabetic shoes that I have been wearing for years have quit working. They were SAS shoes.
I was having problems finding new shoes that would fit. My ankles have swollen up and they get worse when I try to do things. I need protection for my ankles.
I looked up "diabetic shoes" on the internet and found that with Medicare I can get a free pair. I checked with my other insurance and they will pay for new shoes if I have a prescription from my doctor. I got the prescription yesterday.
Tomorrow, I see a specialist who will fit me properly and order my new shoes.
I want to let everyone know that they can get shoes for free if you have Medicare.
They would rather pay for shoes than for an amputation of my feet.
Has anyone had good or bad experiences with getting shoes this way?
