Cool Diabetes and cholesterol and stress

Hi everyone,

Just wondered does anyone else have this experience ...

My stress goes up, my diabetes goes a bit wobbly and then lo and behold my cholesterol goes up.

Just wondering, mine always does this, know how to counteract it, but would just like the doctors to RECOGNISE the MIND/BODY connection between stress which affects us all in many different ways and these two elements of mine.

(Clearly only solution is to be on a permanent holiday away from all stress ... wouldn't that be fab!)

Thanks and take care
V x

Stress will push blood glucose and blood pressure up. I'm less convinced on the cholesterol shift. However that might arise because of a diet change - caused by the stress - "comfort eating" ?

No "new improved recipes"?

Sometimes they sneak in!

In my case it was butter - which suddenly had a significantly improved shelf life. I now use butter made locally on a farm. My LDL has dropped back to where it was.

Stress causes adrenalin hormones to be released which drives up BP, BG, and causes your body physical stress, which in turn will drive up your cholesterol to repair the damage.

Look into GABA supplements. Gaba counteracts stress hormones.

I second MCS's suggestion to look into GABA. It really helped me get a handle on my anxiety.
