Default Interesting Lab Results

I got my labs today from my visit last month. Been working and busy, couldn't get them until now. A1C is 5.7 which I'm happy with. My cholesterol was low, 119 total with 31 HDL and 76 LDL. Triglycerides were 58, my ratio was 3.8. I've been off the statin for two months now, been off for a month as of the test date.

I do love the fact that I have four, horrible, utterly unhealthy hard boiled eggs with the yoke, along with bacon and sausage for breakfast every day for the last 4 months. Wonder how I might edge that HDL a little higher.

Shanny, foxl and Humhum like this.

Just keep doing what you're doing, CDB . . . I think it will continue to increase over time. HDL is a tough one to move, but persistence pays off.

And even think about giving up those 'horrible' breakfasts! lol!

Labs look good CDB. Pat yourself on the back.

I did 45 grams of fish oil and 5 grams of carnitine for 2 months, got my HDL to move 5 pts in the right direction.

I'm definitely keeping the diet up. I may up my fish oil, I'm taking 10 grams a day right now. I think I'm also going to start putting coconut oil in my coffee in the morning. I haven't until now because I get my coffee on the way to work and drink it all in the car, and keeping the oil in the car in the summer turns it into, well, oil. As opposed to coconut oil's more convenient solid form during the cooler months. Solid and much easier to handle on the go.

I wonder, does anyone know of any place that sells coconut oil in convenient to dispense packets of say 1 or 2 tablespoon servings?

I just calculated my average macros and on average I get 58% of my calories from fat, 28% from protein, and 14% from carbs. I'm quite happy with those numbers for now.
