Default 1st A1c after stopping med

Just got my first A1c after stopping my diabetic med (glipizide) three months ago - a 5.9! Was hoping for an even lower number after seeing generally 80s/90s at home, but I guess I shouldn't be too greedy I'll continue with my current LC routine (still working on the HF part) and see where it takes me!

Next med to drop - the statin! Based on my numbers I think it's about time.

Thanks so much for all the advice and suggestions everyone's been posting here (esp. about how bad sulfonylurea meds are).

Great news. Congrats. Do remember that RBC have a life of 90-120 days, so I'm sure the next one (after 3 months) will be more to your liking & expectation.

Congrats! Keep up the great work.

I'm shooting for getting off statins as well. Been on them about nine years and just recently learning so much about them and cholesterol / heart disease risk in general.
