Default Help w exercise please

Hi,
I need help obviously, since I'm feeling so great I'm becoming more active.
Is there a BG/exercise ratio of any sort out there.

I loaded up again this AM to go ice fishing, started out at 112, walked across the bay set up fished a half hour & felt a bit odd, not bad. Checked my BG and was 54, OK no emergency, ate some almonds as I was just sitting there fishing.
20 minutes later I was sighing so I was told, stood up and started shaking like a leaf, couldn't focus, was 64, ate 2 tabs followed by a peanut butter cracker and spike was 120, leveled off at 113, why?

Is there any rhyme or reason to mild exercise and intake? Hate when stuff like this happens. Can someone give me some pointers?

It is hard to figure out because the secret agent, your liver, will toss glucose in there seemingly at random. You need to find out for yourself what level of exercise will make BG go down and what makes it go up. Sadly, there's no one answer.

Usually I wouldn't respond to a question like that from a T1, because most times the issues are different. I must say here that I agree with silvertiger - each diabetic has his/her own diabetic imprint. Very much like a finger print or an iris scan, a lot alike but a bit different.

It seems there is no sure way I suppose. I'm wondering if slowly breaking down the fat, will lead to slowly gaining more control over the sugars and exercise.

I can't just sit. Its making me crazy and fat. But today wasn't even a cardio raiser, ill just have to really work the meter to find the clues.
Thank you both so much the more I can Lear. The quicker Ill get going again.

A couple things that come to my mind, ice fishing, and exercise. Your body's metabolism shifts in a higher gear in the cold, using more fuel, plus the exercise of lunging all that equipment. What bay may I ask. Lived a while up on Superior, done my share of ice fishing.

Maybe protein it up next time, protein is a lot slower to convert to glucose and will last you a while in the cold.

More protein makes sense, I thought or assumed the cold would slow absorption/ metabolism, that's what happened I bet.
Ill increase protein in am and see how that works.
I live on Little Bitterroot lake, in NW Montana, I love ice fishing, like it more when the bites on though, lol.
Fresh trout & salmon are fantastic.
The gears heavy, but I sled it out so not so bad, I live for it and now I can do it, just don't like the lows in that temp and distance from shore.
What did you fish for on superior?

We fished for walleye, brown trout, crappy, perch salmon. I live now where the only ice you see is in your drink.

I don't know if I would mind being in a warm climate again, I like ice fishing but the snow and temps do get old, several times a winter I wish for the heat of Arizona, the sunshine.
Maybe that's age coming on....

Eibhilin, if you were guaranteed the fish would bite, they'd call it catching, not fishing! And good news, shore lunch is pretty low carb, especially if you bring butter to fry that fresh fish in. Num!

That is true, but when they do... trout & perch for dinner tonight!
The sun was out, actually warm and my numbers stayed at 100, that was a great day!
I did more protein going out as well so its all good.
No pain, no breathing issues man life today is sweet!
