Default Cortesone Shots and bg levels Anyone been there?

I had another cortesone shot in my shoulder this morning and as usual it sent my level high. I took and extra shot to lower it. This time my level is still high 11.5, but I am feeling the symptons of extremely low BS. Anyone else had this?

When I saw the doctor at the Spine Institute for neck problems, he said he wouldn't recommend cortisone shots as a course of treatment because of my diabetes. Is there another treatment you could do?

Default Cortesone for Frozen Shoulder

I have adhesive capulitis (frozen shoulder) in both shoulders. The consensus among the orthopedic surgeons is that "nothing works on frozen shoulder". I tend to agree now that I have tried everything from chiropractors to acupuncturist. It is extremely painful and prevents you from sleeping. I have not slept horizontal or in my bed for almost 1 year. The only saviour is these shots for reducing pain. The first one cause a spike (below 20) for 3 days. The 2nd to 5th only affected it for 2 days. I find the results well worth the spike.

There is an alternative treatment, Biopuncture. You have to try and locate a doctor who can administer it though. Biopuncture is an injectable herbal medicine that helps your body heal itself, it's injected directly into the area causing you trouble. My wife has had this done on her knees, and neck with great success.

Also several of our members have mentioned that it went away when they got their blood sugar in line! Maybe read Blood Sugar 101 to learn how to do that and for a good general education about diabetes?

I had frozen shoulder after my rotator cuff surgery, which left me in a sling for 10 weeks, and for that I had a cortisone shot, which sent my BG soaring to 165, which freaked me out. I went walking and then pounded a few shots of whiskey, which dropped it right away. It spiked again, I repeated the remedy. After a few days I was fine, returned to normal BG and got a lot of increased movement in my shoulder.

Hi. Oh my gosh, YES! I even posted a similar question back on January 25th. I got a cortisone shot in my knee and 5 hours later my BG was 351. I shudder to think what it was just 2 hours later. I felt a bit "off" as well. I wonder if it is like a false positive. You know, maybe the cortisone makes the numbers go up, but in reality the bs isn't that high. I would be interested to see what the true affect is.
