Taste of Inspirations Authentic Belgian Dark Chocolate Squares, individually wrapped--better than Godiva, only 1.4 carbs per square. It just melts in your mouth and utterly satisfies any sweet craving I have. That said, I also make my own ice cream with heavy whipping cream of various flavors. Lately, I have truly enjoyed my Almond flavored Ice Cream made with Torani Almond Syrup. I top it off with Walden's Sugar free, carb free Chocolate Syrup. ZERO carbs, delicious. I use Liquid Sucralose (Liquid Splenda) to sweeten everything because it truly has no carbs.

I used to make Cheesecakes, Almond Breads, chocolate Mug pies, etc.. But have lost most of those cravings, now.

Today, I had this craving for Recess peanut butter cups.. I took a square of the above chocolate with a tablespoon of smucker's natural crunchy peanut butter and that was all I needed. A 4.4 carb snack more delicious and satisfying than any recess could be, IMHO.

If, today, I were told I were no longer a diabetic, I don't think I could give up these foods. But, more importantly, I wouldn't need to eat more of them than I already do. They are that flavorful.

With that said, what I do crave, and what has been my personal struggle, are the e positive effects of carbohydrates.. the serotonin.. That "happy" feeling... But, as a diabetic, when I do slip, those feelings are negated by how horrible I would feel with high blood sugars. Don't give up. You will find a way. And, you are not alone.

Shanny and alfbarks like this.

Oh my gosh I didn't expect such wonderful ideas! I'm going to try this recess now. Thanks for the great suggestions!
