Default What is Keto Adapted and how do you know?

I've heard this term but cant seem to quite figure out what it means. Does it mean that your body is use to being in ketosis now that it does not register on ketostix?

I'm trying to figure out why my stix don't change color anymore but once in a while they will but for the most part they don't even turn pink anymore despite I know that i'm waaaay under 25 carbs or there abouts at the least. Or could it be just not enough fats? My last fat record showed 140 fats and 39 protein and 1 carb so how is that not enough fats if that is the case? Still cant lose any poopy ole weight and so frustrated, grrrrrrr.

Fat burning.

Some ketone urine test strips last longer than others. They really do spoil.

Another thing might be relevant. The reagent on the strips is very easily washed off. If "dipping", no more than one second and otherwise, ONLY a single pass through the stream, no more. If it gets rinsed off, you won't get any reading.

OK, so according to several articles I did find and read I AM keto adapted. I have been under 20 carbs a day for at least that now. I don't even eat any carbs now days including vegetables which make me worry that maybe i'm not getting enough nutrition from lack of green veggies since I don't eat any nor do I have a desire to.

As to why the ketostix no longer change color could be because I am using he ketones through just daily use exercise, breathing them out, I am sure I am breathing them out because I often get a nasty taste in my mouth. I've looked for a breath ketone tested but found none.

I just don't know where all this glorious energy and weight loss anad mental clarity that I read about that I always hear about is. I've lost weight with metformin but got it all back when I went off it and now am at a stand still. I have cut back some calories but that has not helped yet either and I have been doing some weights with upper body and moving around the house a lot more cleaning and going through things and things of that nature instead of just sitting and working on computer all day and still nada.

I guess one of a few reasons for the ketstix not changing color could be then because they are old but they are not only a few months old, I urinate too long on them and wash it out, I am keto adapted or I am still doing something wrong...since I have no way to really tell now I don't know what else to change. I just wish I had this energy others talk of and the mental clarity but nooooooooo poo

Thanks a lot Salim. That timing tip really helped. Now I know the joy of Deep Purple.
