Default Need.Help.with.Results!

(sorry.my.space.bar.is.broken)

Anyways...I.was.feeling.very.sick.after.a.minor.ca r.accident
I.think.it.was.all.anxiety.related...anyways.I.wen t.in.to.the
walkin...they.took.my.blood(I.had.just.eaten).and. heard.nothing.for.4.weeks...those.
4.weeks.were.filled.with.feeling.like.****.and.am. now.
seeing.a.psych.for.anxiety.issues

Then.out.of.the.blue...my.doc.called.saying.my.sug ar.was.high
and.that.i.was.to.have.an.OGTT.the.next.day

This.made.me.unbelievably.nervous/stressed...i.didnt.even.
sleep...my.anxiety.was.already.out.of.control.and. was.scared
of.this

so...in.my.worst.possible.shape...i.still.went.in. and.did.the.
OGTT....my.fasting.was...86.4(4.8mmol/l)...and.the.2.hour
was..144(8.0mmol/l)....which.was.slightly.high

It.turns.out.that.there.was.miscommunication...my. doc.
thought.i.was.fasting.for.that.first.blood.test... but.i.didnt...
I.had.just.ate...the.number.was.109(6.1mmol/l).which.is.normal.i.believe?

Im.seeing.my.doc.on.monday.to.discuss.everything.. .but.Im
wondering...is.it.likely.that.all.that.stress/lack.of.sleep.resulted
in.that.high.level?

thanks.and.sorry.for.the.long.story

btw.im.21.normal.weight.eat.pretty.well,etc

THanks!

Your results are almost identical to the results my husband received from his test and they told him that everything was okay. But, they did suggest that he cut back on sweets and carbs, because the results were slightly high/normal.

YES, YES, YES, YES, YES.....stress has a BIG effect on your numbers. A bad day sends my numbers soaring. We won't mention what happens if it's a bad week. UGH

Hopefully you have dodged the "Bid D", but if not, remember your not alone and diabetes is not a death sentence. This forum is a great support circle, use it if you need it. Good Luck!!!!

Welcome aboard, DVM . . . your spacebar problem must be a little nerve-wracking too.

I can agree . . . stress plays havoc with our sugars. Besides learning to manage our diets & meds, we have to learn to relax & let things roll off our backs. Not so easy as it sounds!

What you might do is get a meter & do some testing on your own . . . get a fasting reading before you eat anything in the mornings & then take a few tests after meals. Keep a log of what you eat & what your readings are, and then you'll have a better picture of what's going on. Plus you can show your doc what's going on!

I hope you begin to feel better, and if it helps to come here & let off steam - ask questions - make comments, come right on over!

Thank you for joining us and come back often.
