Thank you Silvertiger! I figured it had to be carried here as well. How long did it take you to adjust and go on the regular metformin? We are going on holidays on Wednesday so I think that I will look at maybe upping the met or getting the Glumetza XR!
Thanks again!

I would think that by now you have a fairly good idea of your carb level per meal. You can experiment with other foods but keep the portions low enough so as not to exceed your limit. I'd be really bored with your three foods, too.

Can you have eggs? Omelets are good, and very low in carbs. You can increase the fat by discarding the whites of one of the eggs. Boy, if I could eat eggs I'd be in heaven!

Hi Veejay, Yes, I can have eggs and like to make omelets on the week-ends. I also like hard boiled eggs in my salads. I have to get more pro active with meal planning!

It only took me three months. What I did was take the 1000mg XR, then add a 500mg regular Metformin pill, then another, then drop the XR and just take regular Metformin. I take 2x500mg Met in the AM and 2x500mg at evening meal.

I also found that Metformin caused me less tummy upset when I ate fewer carbs. So kind of a built in deterrent, which is handy at times. Good luck!
