Default meter strips

Hi,
I would like to know where I can obtain strips for a meter inexpensively. I will purchase any meter that takes strips that don't cost an arm and a leg. The problem is, my dr won't provide me with a perscription for strips because he feels that if one checks their bs too frequently I would become disturbed by bad numbers and if my numbers were good I would eat out of control. So I get no strips. He says, "take your meds as perscribed." Screw him, that's why I checked in here last week, I obviously needed direction from people who know much better than my quack.

The good news is..... since last week I made some major diet adjustments in that I'm doing the atkins diet, with very low carbs, high fat and protein. I've lost 5# and my morning number is down from 189 to 162.

I need all the help I can get, since my dr clearly doesn't know anything and I can't fire him because he charges on a sliding scale for people without ins. I'm hoping that when my obama care kicks in things will get better and I can then perhaps find a REAL dr, or even an endocrinologist.

Go to WalMart and buy a Relion Prime meter (about $18) and strips are only $9 for a box of 50. Least expensive way to go for a meter.

I too vote for ReliOn Prime . . . and I vote strongly against docs who act like yours does. Sorry you have to keep him, but at least you know not to believe him!
