Default Blood Test with LCHF

I started experimenting with diet and eating a lot fewer carbs before Christmas. I also started to increase my fat intake. I've had a dramatic change in my BG for the better. I want to get a blood test soon and compare my lipid profile to that of first of Nov when I was on my high carb low fat diet. I'm most interested in Cholesterol levels, HDL, LDL, Trig.

Have I been on LCHF long enough to see a difference? Anyone know what I should expect? My previous levels are listed on my signature.

I'd give it at least another month. Some of us see higher numbers at the first but then they sink like a stone.

YMMV,

You haven't been losing weight, have you? Weight loss skews lipids results at first, but if your weight is stable, shouldn't take too much longer!

Yes I've lost a few lbs. I think I'm on Ketosis as I'm quite active, work hard all day, exercise frequently and generally eat 30-40g carbs a day.

Around Thanksgiving and for years before I was 187. I've lost 9-10 lbs since.

My results were better mostly across the board, but most dramatic (non-bg-related) improvement was increased HDL.

The when-to-test pattern is so dependent on each individual.

Based on the anecdotal pattern on an LCHF weight loss forum I hang out on, I second Pardart's suggested wait another month.

Frustrating, isn't it? I

Whenever you test, I look forward to hearing the results!

I went from eating low carb to reducing carbs to very low carb around the same time you started. I am probably going to wait just another month and have mine done again sometime in mid-March, if that gives you any type of guidance. I had mine drawn around December and want to see what's happened with it, too.

I haven't had mine checked since Jan. 2013, been thinking about going in March or April. I will be curious to see what has happened, guess I have just been putting it off because I am afraid it won't be good.
