I put a reminder in my To Do list program to change the lancet on the 15th of the month Then I read a post somewhere that you'll have less soreness if you change it each time.

I used to change it each time when I started, but since I switched to a Softclix lancing device, it doesn't hurt as much anyway. The lances are more expensive thought (it doesn't take a standard one), so I'm loathe to go back to changing it every use

I usually change mine when it starts to hurt.

Mine never really get to the point where they hurt, though I think it's because I always poke my thumbs and they just don't hurt much for me.
