Default Reusing Pen Needles

I just started using pens for Apidra and Lantus about a week ago. I noticed the script my doctor gave me calls for "use once a day". There's only 100 pen needles in the box, but I inject four times a day, Apidra 3 times a day, Lantus 1 time a day. Does this mean I'm suppose to be using 1 pen needle for four injections with two types of insulin? I was using syringes for almost 17 years and I had never used one more than once. Thoughts please. Thanks!

While I no longer take insulin, when I did the only times I changed the pen needle were (a) new pen or (b) the needle bent or got clogged or something. Sort of the same way I am with lancets.

Since I don't use insulin, please take this with a grain of salt, but perhaps use a separate needle for each pen. Not one needle for both.

I use pens (levemir & novorapid) and wouldn't be comfortable reusing the needles. Perhaps your doc made a mistake filling the script? I'd call and ask.

Thanks for the replies. I did call my doctor's office and they don't want me reusing my pen needles. They're going to DC my current script and give me a new one when I need it.
