ORDERED!

Goodby glucometer. I think this is the only measure I'll need. So what if it's $100 up front? It's FREE after that and unlimited testing. Now, if there was only such a thing for insulin!

Funny that even in Sweden they weren't brave enough to discuss what it's really for. The whole website makes it look like it's only for people treating epilepsy with the KD.

I can't tell if the highest range it detects is the upper range of dietetic ketosis only. If so, it wouldn't be useful for T1s seeking to detect the beginnings of ketoacidosis - which is a much higher range. I guess they'd still need the urine strips at least for backup.

It has four LEDs, each one representing a range of acetone/ketones on your breath:

Blue - none or trace: 0-150 nmol/L
Green - low: 150-400 nmol/L
Yellow - medium: 400-930 nmol/L
Red - high: 930+ nmol/L

Ordered as well. But I'll retain all the 5 glucometers I have. My meter will continue to remain my best friend & I will "test, test, test". Just IMHO.

I'll keep my [two] meters as well and may even use them once in a while - mostly out of curiosity or boredom. However, from four years experience I've learned that as long as I'm cooking ketones well, blood sugar is a total non-issue. Being able to test any number of times in the day is totally awesome.

Now, I want a low-cost insulin level test!
