Default Diagnosing Diabetes

My girlfriend went to a her naturopath and apparently was diagnosed with early diabetes just by looking at her eyes. No blood tests were performed. Is this possible?

Its getting annoying because she believes in everything this lady tells her and is refusing a colonoscopy (recommended by my well experienced, well-known doctor) because this naturopath said she was too young (18) and it would do damage.

PS. This naturopath also diagnosed her with haemorrhoids by feeling her stomach alone as well. She didn't even have to undress.

I need someone to just confirm this is complete nonsense plzzzz

If she believes it, I don't see how soliciting our opinions is going to change her mind or help your relationship. We're here to give support to people who have diabetes, not referee arguments between guys & their girlfriends.

If you really want to help her, then can the arguing and get her a glucometer so she can check her blood sugars. Send her here and she can see how we control diabetes safely and surely.

Reading star charts may work too.

Many people have unorthodox belief systems and different comfort levels regarding traditional medicine and alternatives.

We here seem for the most part to put our faith in these little meters that read numbers. We eat certain things, then test and see the results. Everyone here reacts differently. The meters tell all. Got a BS problem? We can help. As funny as it sounds, we learn by trial and error. We learn what works and what does not. We have proof and pretty dramatic results.

We generally do not do what our doctors and nutritionists recommend, simply because we have found it does not work. We are very proactive in managing our own health in ways that have proven to work very effectively and quickly and tailored to our own individual needs.

I'll get off my soap box and entertain having another drink.
