Petty? No way! Appropriate? Yes!

My own Food Police come from 2 jurisdictions:

-- Precinct 1 shoves bread and cake under my nose. Literally, and repeatedly. Like, every few minutes.

-- Precinct 2 rushes around, moving the carbs far away from me with great ceremony (after making sure I see them, and am told I can't eat them).

Know what? I don't need either one!

Wow, Shalynne! That's awful! Makes me glad I live alone!

Yup, we'd be the ones arrested and if anyone bothered to check our bg, they would surely be scratching their heads. How'd we do that?

Fortunately I don't live with either "jurisdiction," though I do live with a determinedly non-compliant fellow Type 2. At home, I'm the police, but I'm not a very effective enforcer.

My own "cops" are certain extended family members and friends. Can't blame them, either. Public mis-education rules the day, and lots of folks can't tell a carb from a cat. Best I can do, when asked how people can support me, is to say, "No need! That's my job." Which, of course, it is!

I just had a moment of real anger. I packed a salad today with lettuce, cucumbers, boiled eggs, bacon, cheese, low carb salad dressing. Nom! I had a flashback to years ago when I was eating salad and enjoyed this kind of salad especially. But I stopped doing it because society told me I had to use low fat dressing, no eggs, low fat cheese. And that tasted horrible! So I stopped eating the salads I liked, and got sicker and sicker.

Grrrrrrr.

Shanny, diabetes86 and Shalynne like this.
