Picking up where I left off!

My Relion Prime meter is now working as it should. I opened a new pack of strips this morning and tested my FBG at 103. This is a tad higher than I like but believable. I tested when I got home from work and got a 76! My True2go came in with a close 72. This is a 4 point spread, these two meters are generally up to a 45+ point spread.

I very recently read when questionable results are reported it is generally the strips that are at fault not the meters. Apparently my first two packs of strips for my Relion meter were responsible for reporting numbers averaging 20-30+ points higher than what I thought I really was.

I will keep testing using both meters as they seem quite close to each other now. A huge relief when results start to reflect again what I believe my BG level to be. Hope this lasts.

hitcheca and tgrmuskego like this.

That makes sense as your personal choice, but since I'm self funded, I choose to test and then watch my trends, not the actual numbers knowing they aren't on the money.

A high reading on occasion (especially a false one) keeps me on my toes and raises my awareness of what I put in my mouth. I usually bump up the fats ASAP.

I wondered if it were the strips that made for the higher numbers. I am on my 2nd vial of strips for the newly purchased Relion meter, and still the numbers are higher than they should be. But since you went thru 2 other vials before you got better numbers, I'll see what happens. I'm about to need another vial of strips.
