Default Insulin Pump and Surgery

I am scheduled for major surgery on my spine in the neck area. Just wondering about use of my insulin pump during surgery? Plus normal recovery period is overnight in the hospital. I am leaning towards the cautious side and asking to stay an extra day due to my diabetes.

Any feedback whould be greatly appreacited.
