This is a night of sugar and BS everywhere will be going up, down, up and down! Stay strong this evening by going out with a plan. Pack some nuts, cheese, even some sugar free candies so you have a go to snack when the urge to pick hits you in the gut. One always leads to 10 and for us you are aerobic to carbs need to be extra careful. Your goal tonight is to stay below 140 and I know we all can do it.
I am so lucky on that front! My kids are grown and out of state, the little spur road I live on has never had any trick or treaters, so I don't get exposed at all!! Phew!
this is gross, but when the urge is so overwhelming, I take a bite, chew it up and then spit it out. Sometimes just the taste will kill the craving because it is sooooo
sweet.

We are giving away 1 oz individual packs of peanuts and almonds tonight. I had to order them online to find them. The kids won't like them as much but I will for the next month.
I think I will give this a try next year. We know sugar is evil so why not an alternative. My kids got erasers last night you should have herd the comments. I will not do erasers.
I live in a condo, so no kiddos for me, either. I celebrated by going out to a movie and to eat steak with two friends. Back home, some 90% dark chocolate, 1/4c roast edamame and a glass of red vino. A nice treat, indeed.
Kids do haunt this neighborhood, but Droughtville got its first real rain today, so there were far fewer than usual. That, plus we did not participate. (Participating houses leave a porch light on. We did not, but we could still hear the action, and see some of it, too.)
The real treat, on top of the desperately-needed rain? My husband's finally cutting down the carbs, and herefused to buy candy! I did not oppose this At All (nor did I gloat).
He's got a ways to go, but real progress is happening.
Friends whose kitchen is being repaired and de-molded after a water leak trashed it are staying with us. Other friends came over for dinner - brought a rich pumpkin custard for dessert . I spent yesterday making rich, carby foods and sauces. My BFF handled the tasting (not good - her last A1c was 6.8, she does not test, and eats whatever). DH placated a gazillion monsters and superheros with two gazillion chocolates while everyone sampled the Halloween treats.
End of the day? I forgot the LC coleslaw I had prepared and ended up eating no added carbs day yesterday.
We do get kids and I also take our son out trick-or-treating. It was raining so bad and freezing cold yesterday, so we did go out (his choosing), but returned after about an hour. We then had maybe four or five kids come to our door for that last hour (it's a two-hour ordeal here).
The weather is still terrible. It's rain/snowing and 41 degrees.
We've been cruising along here just above frost levels, and suddenly last night BAM! 23°! Straight to killing freeze.
Was thankful last night to be an old fat hen with no little chicks wanting to go out & about. It borders on downright weird that more often than not, the awful weather smacks down on Halloween night.
It certainly does! I remember two years ago when we were out on Halloween. It was a little cold at first but nothing horrible. About 1/2 mile from home, it started pelting hail on us. It's been ridiculous!
Next year I think we'll do that "teal pumpkin" thing and give out little toys or erasers, that kind of thing.
This year I fell off the wagon hard and then it ran over me. I went to a Hallowe'en supper and party that friends were hosting. They had my favorite carby chip on hand and I ate some.
At 2am I was throwing up. The next morning I felt like I was 80 years old. Neither end of my digestive tract was happy with me.
I was so happy to get back to low-carb. Hopefully soon I'll remember how it feels BEFORE eating the carbs. Stupid addiction.
You are SOOO not kidding with that remark. 2 weeks ago I had wheat. I'm still curing the very itchy rash.
