Default Latest Blood Test - Question

Hi all, it's been a while since I've posted. I've been LCHF since March last year when I first joined the club. I haven't been perfect, but it's really helped keep my BG under control most of the time.

I was wondering why my triglycerides were so high, when everything else seems to be OK. These are my latest numbers:

Total Cholesterol = 159
Tryglyderides = 207
HDL = 49
VLDL =41
LDL = 69
A!C = 6.1 (it was 5.9 last time)
Fasting BG = 117

Thoughts?
Thanks

Triglycerides are typically indicators of too many carbs, or too much alchohol.

But the real question should be, what were they before? Are they dropping or stable from the last time (assuming last time was before LCHF)?

You answered your own question.

You haven't been true to LCHF.

That's why you're seeing those numbers (trigs, a1c, and possibly FBG)

Stay true and things should improve

As David said, I already answered my own question. ;-) My triglyceride was:

April 2014 (first test) - 162
August 2014 -153 (was LCHF compliant)
December 2014 -207

So it's not sticking with LCHF and the alcohol I believe.

Back on the wagon it is.

Thanks

AHA! Trigs don't lie. I think Dr. Westman says he uses them to gauge compliance in his weight loss clinic patients. A nice reality check for you.

My thoughts - compliance issues and/or you are on a statin which shows artificially subdued Total-C & LDL-C numbers. Are you ?

Indeed I am on atorvastatin. Yes, I am immersing myself back in the LCHF woe again. That was a real eye-opener for me.

How long did you fast for for the triglyceride test?

We always had our patients fast for a minimum of 12 hours for that particular test.
