Default What was i thinking?

Well I started my journey on the LCHF eating on 5/1/15. I have had amazing results keeping my BS below 120 except but two times, which occurred during the first week. My average since 5/1/12 is now at 102....which for me, who last month had an Ac1 of 7.3 to 7.9 for the last 18 month has been just plain remarkable...until last night.

I know to eat no Wheat or Grains, or root crops, or sugar of any kind! For some reason last night I ate two cobs of corn....It was like I blanked out that they are 'GRAIN'....fortunately I am still testing my blood at 1hr. and 2hr. At 1 hr. I was at 153 OMG...at 2hr I was at 138...lesson learned! No more corn!

This morning I was at 113, so not to bad, just hope my liver did not 'reload' with carbs....but at this point, all I can do is stay with the plan.....

Beware, it is easy to slip!

Yeah, I know what ya mean. I was give some Jägermeister for my birthday, I broke the seal last night. OOPS.

I remember being ambushed by some cookies a few months into LCHF. The results certainly leave no way to doubt LCHF eating makes a difference.

Congratulations on clearing as well as you did as quickly as you did. I would have taken hours to see just the initial BG reduction.

Of course your liver reloaded glycogen! Even this shall gradually reduce again.

Nine days ago, we got back from a week on a cruise ship.

Last night at bedtime was 102, and this morning's fasting was 99, statistically, the same reading. I hope this means that my liver has reset to zero.

Lots of us grew up with peas, carrots and corn served as The Vegetable of the Day. Some restaurants still do that. So, yeah, the occasional early days slip-up is no surprise. It's a process.

Chocolate vodka was my "Jägermeister." Somehow, I'd figured the stuff would be chocolate-infused, much as some coffee beans and mineral waters are infused with unsweetened flavors. Nope.

I actually called a vodka company (can't remember which one)and they told me the flavored vodkas with an alcohol content of 35% contains 8-12 g of sugar per 1.5 oz. As the alcohol content gets lower, the sugar goes up. I just stick to the plain stuff now.

We treat ourselves to corn on the cob once per year when it's fresh. Other than that, it's a big NO.

Thanks to all....I don't mind 'falling off the wagon' once and a while, but I have only been at this for 25 days now....

So I refocused by confessing my sin to you all.....
