Default Traveling to USA from Europe. Tips?

Hey,

Im flying to New York on Monday from Poland. Flight departures 10.10 and arrives in New York 20.45.

My insulin is Lantus and Novorapid. Usually i take my long lasting insulin Lantus on mornings.

How should i take my Insulin during this long flight? And how do i adjust to the time difference in USA? Going to fly from New York to Las Vegas.

Any tips and suggestions?

I used to travel to Europe and South America quite often. I am on metformin and Lantus. I continued to take my meds at the same time as always, using my home time as the basis. I just did the math to adjust to the local time of day/night. At times I would stay our of the USA for a week to 10 days, but I kept my med schedule the same, based on what the actual time was at home.

Just takes a bit of preplanning.....!

And please do not judge our country by what you see and experience in NYC....it is a very big city, but is unique unto itself. Other parts of the country have their own cultures, music, and history...so if time permits see more than just NYC!

Safe Travels...

Las Vegas is also unique. Plenty of outdoor sunshine is my method of resetting from travel, and the extra D doesn't hurt the diabetes either.

The UV index in Las Vegas is running right around 10 now, so visitors from Northern Europe should be aware. It does go higher.

Taking in sun in Vegas can cause you to be overdosed with vitamin D??!!....and come out 'well done'!

But few spend time in the sun when you have so many other things to do in Vegas!
