Default please, I hope my good friend finds his way here

He just had a huge shock tonight. My husband and I were testing our blood sugars, and he tested his along with us. He had a very high value. I don't want to post it here, but it's dangerously high. My husband and I have tried to educate him about what to do. I sent him links to this website and the Blood Sugar 101 site as well. I hope he takes this seriously. Thanks for listening.

The best you can do is offer your support and hope that they decide for themselves to get a handle on things.

In the past I would give them a bunch of information, linking to Blood Sugar 101, LCHF, etc. But I've found that that is waaaay too much to take in at the beginning and works against what I was hoping to accomplish. Kind of gets their back up... So now I lead with support and let them know that if they have questions, I would be happy to chat more later about what has worked so well for me.

that makes a lot of sense Daytona. I'm encouraged that he went out this morning and got a meter, and did his fasting blood sugar. He said he was going to do a 1 hr and 2 hr set of readings as well. One hour and 2 hour readings in the 130s, much better than before.

Thank you

That is great news! Not only admitting that things ain't right but getting the best tool to take control of things. I think your friend is on the right track.
