Default Expired Glucose Sticks

Dr. has changed my meter to One Touch Ultra II. He prefers to meter I had because of the software for tracking my readings, insulin, etc. I have quite a few strips for the the old meter but they have expired. I have used them and compared to new meter readings and they are very close. My question: Are the old sticks still OK and how will I know when they are not OK. I do not want to measure twice every time. I measure 6 to 8 times a day. Sometimes I suspect manufactures build in obselence to sell more products and that many dates can be extended.
Appreciate any feedback on this.

How long ago did they expire? If it was just last month, I might still use them. But really, your health is too valuable to play the guessing game with.
