Thank you - This is useful. It's amazing just how many dufferent meters there are. What's really needed is something that actually compares and grades these for accuracy and consistency.

One would think that in such a hyper-competitive market that these manufacturers would try to use some type of differentiation against the competition.

It seems that they compete with the type and number of bells and whistles. Oh, and pretty colors for the case, too!

I am one of those who has been using the TRUEtest meter and strips...from what I see on this website, I will not be able to get more strips, although I still seem them shown on Amazon.com. I have a little over 200 strips left, so I guess I will see in a few weeks when I try to reorder strips....

My primary focus if I have to get a new meter is cost of test strips. I know meters can have some accuracy problems, but I really focus more on the trends vs. the actual reading. I use 120 as my 'top' targeted BS, leaving room for inaccurate meter readings.

If any of you have a meter that you like and the strips are not expensive, please let me know.....YOU ALL ARE MY CONSUMERS REPORT!

In regards to your discontinued strips. I emailed Trividia through their website, told them I'd been a TRUEresult user for years, couldn't afford to buy a new TRUEmetrix meter...would they consider sending me that upgrade. They did.

There's also this on their website.

Good luck.

You can get a free TrueMetrix meter from most pharmacies. They usually have them that have been provided by the manufacturer with their particular branding on them.
