Default Finally! the HbA1c

Got home a few minutes ago and checked online, and the results are through - it's a 5.6!

So in 3 months, I've gone from 6.7 to 5.6 and am absolutely thrilled. All my cholesterol/lipids results changed for the better, my vitamin D has improved from 30 to 85, the doctor says my liver and kidney functions are absolutely dead normal, now my HbA1c puts me well in the 5% club and life is pretty good.

I'll stop boring you all with my step-by-step dramas now.

Thanks, Shanny. I forgot to mention that yesterday the doctor told me my lab-tested fasting bg was 4.7 on Saturday. On 28th October, in my annual blood test, it was 8.5. Which is what set me on the Diabetes path.

Ann that is terrific news well done, the results show how hard you've worked & just how this LCHF diet works, I am so pleased for you.

Thanks, Catherine! I'm over the moon, being one of those who needs rewards to keep focused. My long term aim is not only to drop weight and maintain control of my D, but also to prove the doctors wrong.

You deserve to be over the moon, for me the relief of getting under 6 & knowing I was preventing loss of limbs & sight etc was immeasurable, plus I am very competitive & I wasn't going to give in lol
It's a bit of a risk to make the decision to go LCHF & go against docs advice, if it wasn't for this forum & the great advice from other members im positive my numbers would be climbing & I'd be pulling my hair out wondering what I was doing wrong!!!
Are you having something special for dinner to celebrate??

Went to Portside today with my sister to see The Artist (highly recommended!) and had a lovely late lunch afterwards of a smoked salmon and avocado salad and long black with cream on the side, so not eating. But I'm currently enjoying a glass of Marlborough sauv blanc - Essenze.

Thanks, skb. I'm very new to this, and it's a huge leap of trust to start with, so to have everything affirmed by all the standard lab tests is just mind-bogglingly encouraging.
