Default Cortisone injection remedies?

After rotator cuff surgery about 14 months ago, then 10 weeks immobilization in sling, now my f****** shoulder is frozen. Today I had a steroid injection in the joint. After a dinner of clams in cream sauce with spinach, a BG of 142. I've been pounding the alcohol, which helps some, and I'm about to get on the elliptical, but what else can I do to keep my BG down over the next couple of days? I'm already planning ultra-low carbs, like 10-20 per day, but what else might help?

Doc told me when I got steroid inj. not to worry about BG level unless it went over 200 and didn't come back down. I still worried over it daily.

The steroid is going to make you bgs high for a week or so. It seems you are eating low carb, that is about all you can do. I would not overdo it on the exercise that could cause more inflammation and even higher bgs.

Over 200, is he kidding??? I freak out over 140, and I'm upset over 130, and I frown on anything over 120.

There's nothing you can do. I had to do a steroid pack a couple months back, need another but that not important. Doc told me to not test cuz the roids will deliver false highs for the first three to four days. Don't change your normal routine and you will be fine.

Time is the only thing you can take that will make it any better. Worrying will not help either so sit back and relax.

Well, actually I don't agree. Alcohol and exercise both do really lower my blood sugar, so I think using them makes sense. I was just wondering whether anyone else had other tricks.

As I can't use exercise, I do use wine and it does help...at least on my meter and my head?
