I'm not sure if that's good or bad.

For me, that would depend on whether that reading was typical or a one-off.

My BG increases in the morning, starting with dawn phenomenon early in the a.m. I try to avoid a BG of 140 (anytime).

But I don't like to eat breakfast as soon as I wake. So I've learned to eat just a little something -- a couple of small crackers or an ounce of cheese or such -- pretty soon after I wake up and then I'll eat breakfast when I feel like it. I find that doing this arrests my rising BG.

As a Type 1 I have the same issue - Dawn Phenom and as well just the stress of getting up, moving around, grabbing a shower etc will increase my BGs as well and as a result the first thing I do every morning is give a shot to prevent levels from increasing.

Interesting the difference between Type 1 and 2. As a type 1, I see 140 as perfectly fine.

Thanks for your responses Steve and Fletcher, I am a creature of habit to the extreme and the Dawn phenomenon happens as a result of the time it takes to drink 1 liter of water when I wake up. I was under the impression that it is important to start my day off with a substantial amount of water, but I would prefer starting off with coffee w/HWC and fritatta. I can't wait to test this change!

Smile Blessings Forever!

106.00 mg/dL.

@ 4:09pm

Way upside down today. Took a glipizide this morning and went to sleep as my numbers had gotten to the low 140's. Glad I tested right after some physical activity. Just learning the effects.

128.00 mg/dL.

@ 7:12 pm

Trying to get use to mediocre numbers without meds, but I hate anything over 100. Weight loss continues as I am down to 239 so in 6 lbs I will no longer be obese at all just overweight. Goal is 193, and supreme goal is 180.
