125, darn it. When I eat just nuts later in the evening, my BGS is in the 10X-11X range, or even 9X., But, if I add Carving Board Chicken (1gm per serving, and I eat 2 svngs), it's higher in the morning. I don't get it. the chicken isn't high carb, but it happens every time. I have blood tests tomorrow morning, so no chicken tonight. but, that just doesn't seem right.

Although it says zero carbs, read the list of ingredients. This came from the Oscar Meyer website for Carving Board Chicken.
Quote:
Ingredients
CHICKEN BREAST, WATER, CULTURED CORN SUGAR, CONTAINS LESS THAN 2% OF SALT, VINEGAR, ROTISSERIE CHICKEN FLAVOR (YEAST EXTRACT, FLAVOR, SALT, CHICKEN BROTH, CELERY SEED), SODIUM PHOSPHATES, SODIUM ASCORBATE, SODIUM NITRITE, CARAMEL COLOR.
Servings
2 oz (56g)
Maybe this is it, maybe not.

Are you on any meds?

yes, I take Metformin 500mg each morning. I hadn't read the ingredients, being chicken....color me embarrassed. I know better than to assume things, but when it comes to meat, I'm not as good as I should be. My husband does the shopping, but that's no excuse. thanks. I'm ill and can't just cook up a chicken when i want to, so I pretty much have to buy processed foods, which isn't good anyway.

I got bit by some bbq pork rinds once, no carbs no sugar in the nutrition table. Sugar was one of the top ingredients in the flavoring. Also some shredded cheeses have potato starch added to keep the cheese shreds from sticking to each other. They do try to be sneaky, more than you think.
