128. Not great, but still under 130.

Made pumpkin pie today (frozen pumpkin that accidentally thawed). Tried this recipe. Skipped the butter and went right for the Crisco shortening for the pie crust. Anyway, it's a yummy substitute for the original pumpkin pie recipe that everybody uses (Libby's can). 12.3 grams carbs vs. 42 grams for 1/8 slice pie.

Surprisingly, a 96 (5.3) this morning. Ate out at fried catfish place for granddaughters graduation dinner. I ate a little of everything but the cake. My BG was 157 when we got home. I guess being anal about avoiding several things that I did eat last night (cole slaw, beans, fried potatoes, catsup, hush puppies, pickled tomato relish) may be very beneficial when I do give in. Of course, walking an hour after testing had to help some too.

102 FBG, weight 159.2 lbs. Not bad considering I had 3 off track days in a row.

Friday I had an all you can eat Indian buffet, and I ate all I could of delish curries and such. No rice or naan but probably still carby as I got tired a while after eating.

Saturday dinner I had 3 servings of potato salad because it was so good and to test my "resistant starch" research.

Sunday, breakfast ham and cheese omelet with red potatoes on the side.

Curious, why skip butter in favor of shortening?

SNAP again bignick, a 102 this morning. Probably the result of the Saturday night outing.

I wish I would have thought about having to have blood drawn this morning and what effect the excursion might have on my A1c, but it is what it is now and we'll just have to go with what we get for the next 6 months..

I don't have the knack of making a butter crust for pie. Most people I know of who are successful are using a food processor, which I don't have. Its supposed to work with a pastry blender, which I use, but the effort makes my wrists hurt. I do make a butter crust for such things as cheesecake. However, I use an electric hand mixer to 'crumb' the mixture. Small amounts crumb faster and thus don't melt the butter.

133. I suspect that I used the old 42 unit order instead of the new 44 unit order. Oops.

I've cut my carbs down to under 50 gr./day. I still haven't come up with portable alternatives to sandwiches when I know I'm going to be stuck at an appointment other than to alter my dinner considerably.
