It was 87, and honestly, I only have a vague reason why it was so good.
I had a lot of protein, with 80 units of insulin, and no sugar.

My fasting measurement was 8.2 and then for breakfast I had slices of cheese on six triscuit crackers. Two hours later my measurement was 9.7. I know it's not the most low carb of breakfasts but I've had it before and it didn't raise the blood sugar by that much. I had tea with Splenda so maybe that affects blood sugar? But I've had a cup of tea before...

Some studies (like this one) indicate that, in some people, artificial sweeteners like Splenda (sucralose) have the same kind of effect on blood glucose measurements that sugar does.

But this appears to be one of those things in which some people with diabetes are okay with one kind of artificial sweetener but not another. Many of the posters here use stevia, which is a plant extract, or erythritol. The best way to know which sweetener works for you is to test your blood glucose after eating it by using your meter.
