82 this morning after finally getting a good nights sleep.
I was getting a small load of hay for our cows; I used one bale on the ground as a step to get onto the tailgate and off the tailgate.

When was getting off the tailgate I stepped down with my right foot and as I was moving my left leg off the tailgate the bale rolled and my left knee bent too far back and all I heard was a crunch; similar if you tear a stalk of celery but really loud.

At that point my left knee was bent far back and I could not straighten my leg; which indicated that my tendon torn off my patella.

123 this morning still high even though I did not eat any carbs. I suspect gylcogen is being released by the severe muscle strain?

That would imply you had a lot of glycogen stored up (which is supposedly less likely with low-carb/keto). Medications can bump up blood glucose levels (though I know you said you were being sparing on the Percocet). And stress/pain can bump up BG as well. I'll guess you're not as active as you were, either; that doesn't help.

Activity limited to some hopping around on crutches either from the bed, to a chair to access my laptop and to the restroom. Not much else I can do for the moment since my left leg is immobilized in a brace and will be for another 4-5 weeks post surgery.

Ouch again, my legs are tingling!!!! I can just picture that could happen to me jumping on and off a hay trailer. I think I'll just volunteer to drive in the future.

A 74 FBG this morning.

Have been doing reading on the internet; Dr. Google and Youtube on what I am in for in a quadricept tendon repair and physical therapy. I just want to know what I am in for rather than the medical community single threading each and every step and I being in the dark. The pain and gore of the procedure does not bother me so much.

Netflix is good too. I just feel bad for my wife who has to pick up everything I did on the farm; some of our friends are helping out in the interim.
