91 today! Actually quite a shock as my 30 day average is 110, yesterday a 113. My FBG most always seems to be well over 100 and under 118 over the last few months. I eat LC - VLC and HF, I'm active, feel very healthy and keep my weight low at about 162 for 6' height. I'm in dietary ketosis and intermittently fast often.

I have noticed my fasting numbers trending higher since I started incorporating intermittent fasting more often. Also my cheat meals or cheat food items which were infrequent are even more so. My theory is my body is producing very little insulin now and my body has become quite insulin resistant at the same time. I am fully dependent upon fatty acids for cellular energy and have been for over 3 years so glucose remains in my bloodstream rather than entering cells. Testing later in the day usually brings results under 100. Also engaging in a physically demanding activity like hiking will bring it down as well.

This morning my fasting was 138.

As always, it comes right back down after I eat.

107 this morning.

My visit with the rheumatologist went well. I got a sort of general type diagnosis (undifferentiated connective tissue disease UCTD), which is fine and as expected since my symptoms aren't all that many or severe, and was given a Rx for a medication to help with the fatigue. It can take up to 6 months for this type of med to kick in, but hopefully in half that time. The tests also showed antibodies toward the thyroid, so I may be looking forward to developing hypothyroid in the future (which is funny because all these years I thought my problems stemmed from hypothyroid, even with having all the tests fall in the normal range).

128 this morning.

I am not sure if it is actually lower or if I just slept longer than usual. LOL

128 this morning. I will drink some bulletproof coffee in a bit to bring it down.

110 this morning. Slept in over an hour later than usual and didn't take it until another half hour, so that's not too bad, considering.

Another sunny and mild (for January) day today.

It was a marketing term that a coffee shop made up. Basically, it's coffee with lots of cream in it. Some here will also add coconut oil to increase the fat content, and some will add sweetener.

The idea for us diabetics is to have something with a lot of fat in it, rather than carbs.
