A 107 this morning. Cleaning out the freezer yesterday, I had some beans I needed to eat. Retrograded, but I think I had too much.

So, here it is...

This morning when I woke up, my blood sugar was 141.

A few hours later, after drinking a cup of Bullet Proof coffee, my blood sugar was 108. Go figure.
I know that feeling, it's coming down, I was 123 this morning, but somehow just as disappointed as I was a couple weeks ago when it was 165. I guess I should be more grateful, and thankful, that it is coming down. I know it's suppose to be below 100, but this getting low numbers is addicting, and I'm not sure 100 would satisfy me. I need to change my thinkin.

139. Annoying, but moving on.

It's a lovely day at the moment. They SAY thunderstorms this afternoon. It's nice to have a break from errands for a couple of days.

Dejunking the bathroom today. My late sister kept insisting we keep this stuff to 'use it up' and 5 years later, it's still there.

111 better than expected!

Occasionally, like every few months I'll eat a bit of carby food to test my reactions, also to enjoy a favorite type of food that I have given up. Wife and I went to a huge Chinese buffet and I got a plate of sushi rolls. I had 4-5 pieces with rice, the rest I removed as much rice as I could. I also had salad, kimchi, beef steaks and octopus.

I tested before eating at 95 and about 2 hours after at 99. I feel I handled that pretty well. My weight however is up this morning as expected from the carbs.

I was so good yesterday and went to bed at 92 . . .woke up at 107. Still learning, so can't understand how it goes up during the night. Just stands to reason it would go down as I don't eat or drink.

Just the allowable error in our meters, could explain what you see. Older meters were allowed 20% error, new ones are less. Add 20% to 92 or take 20% from 107 if an older meter, use 10% if a fairly new meter.

It could also be dawn phenomenon. Wake up time usually results in the release of adrenal hormones, that signals for glucagon, that signals for glucose. That also signals for an insulin response that should keep things in check, but a diabetic may suffer from a lack of insulin, a timing issue with insulin, and/or insulin resistivity issues that lets the BG go a little higher.

Do you eat right away after getting up, if not you might test again right before you eat. If your BG is still going up, eat a little something when you first get up.

Right now your numbers are not that far apart. I wouldn't put much worry into it.

I was 95 (5.3) this morning.

It's a new meter (less than 2 weeks) One Touch Verio IQ. Seems pretty accurate. I would think if it was inaccurate this morning, by over calculating, it would be over last night as well? But then again, still learning. I did find something about "Liver dumping" in another thread, so will investigate further.
