I was suddenly out of my usual routine this morning when I got up and read my note to myself "Black coffee only, blood test". Forgot all about testing FBG.

I took off work yesterday and will be off on Monday as well. That always helps with my numbers. I'm looking forward to (hopefully) retiring next year and having great numbers every day.

I went to a cookout yesterday and had a lot of protein, but any carbs would have been hidden. There was smoked brisket, hot dogs, brats and burgers! Of course, I had to try it all

Fasting bs takes on a whole new dimension with a CGM. I guess it's when I first look at it. For example:

First glance it was 108. Bathroom. Next glance 96. Fixed coffee. 90.

Looking at my graph it was a beautiful straight line through the night and started dropping when I woke up.

Have I mentioned how much I love my Dexcom? I have? Well I do!

Ah, it just went to 97. It has been remarkably accurate and I'm learning to trust it.

168 this AM - had been awake a bit before I got up. Think I will try taking it as soon as I wake up.

Lots of us have DP (dawn phenomena). If we don't eat something soon after we wake, our BG rises. Kind of happens to everybody, good morning burst of glucose from the liver, but our insulin response is either in slow motion or our insulin resistance is high enough that we get a rise in BG.

My FBG was 90 this morning. Up a couple of hours earlier today than Saturday and Sunday. I snuck up on my DP.
