I'm home and drinking a cup of coffee.
Doctor was so happy with me! My A1c was 6 and he was very excited about that. I think he is comparing me to non-compliant diabetic patients.
He doesn't want to change a thing. I'll tighten up on my food choices and try to start exercising again.

I get that from my primary all the time -- like any number under 7 is "fantastic!". She was not on board with keto at all, at first, but all my labs (steady for years now) have gotten her to stop urging me to eat lots of carbs. Doesn't even talk to me any more about going on statins. Other than her dogged insistence that the ADA-accepted levels for BG are OK, I have no complaint with her.

Good choice -- and good luck (especially during our COVID winter). I'm sure it will make a difference!

I recently changed PCPs, and my new PCP was happy to see that my A1C was 6.2% . I'm working to get back to the 5% Club.

My doctor asked me if I could tolerate statins and I said NO. He doesn't need to know why He's not a huge fan of keto, but he isn't opposed to it either.
Thanks for the wish for luck! I'm going to need all the luck I can get.

Like @alamogirl, I'm trying to get back to the 5% club! Looking back at my data I was last there in 2018.
