192 this AM - waiting for 6 more minutes to call the nurse at my PCP and tell her my situation and see what she wants me to do.

How long overnight is considered fasting? I have been about 85 every morning. I usually eat before 8 pm.

155 this AM - better than what it's been being the last few mornings. Nurse never got up with me so I will try again Monday when PCP is back in the office.

Can you help me with my question? How many hours overnight constitutes a fasting period? I have been averaging 80-85, this morning was 77. I never eat past 8-9 pm. I get up before 10 usually, today it was 11.

Typically "fasting" in regards to lab tests is 8 hours since you had anything to eat or drink, other than water or black coffee (plain tea). When I first get up in the morning I check my BG, doesn't matter if I ate 4, 6, 8, 10 hours or more before and call it fasting. If going in for lab tests, my fasting tests are usually 16 hours or more after I last ate because my PCP's staff doesn't get there before 8:30 and you still wait until after 9 to get called back.

I was 95 this morning.
