Thanks Shanny and there is no way I will be back down that road. Daily calls from my crying mother were hard. Everybody I knew thought I was dying. Hell, so did I.

On another note. The quack doctor that diagnosed me and put on every med he could think of was removed from practice by his partners. Turns out I wasn't the only person who had issues with him. The nurse who's daughter goes to school with my son said they made him leave because he was going looney and they felt he was a liability. Wish they would have seen it sooner.

The guy actually called me out of the blue a couple of weeks ago wanting to put on another med. Can't remember what it was but I think he must have been offered a bonus from his drug rep to push whatever it was. Can't imagine why else he called when I hadn't seen him in over a month.

Shanny and moon like this.

My fasting has been getting rather high in the 120's but she has been resistant to putting me on insulin. They would rather I take the pills that were slowly killing me. I have worked to hard to get my life back to go down that road again.
actually my BG levels were good on Metformin also but i couldn't gain weight . i talked to my Endo about this many times and everytime her reply was insulin is easiest way to get weight. so i finally decided to give it a try.
Insulin pump is not available in my country . i am using pen. it is all well except i really scared to inject as there is only skin and bone left in my body.
i'll post about my weight later on.
thanks

i'll let post about my weight later on.
I really hope it works for you. I am very curious about your progress.

Are you still on the metformin? Me and metformin just didn't get along. I think it was a big factor in my weight loss. It apparently worked though as it has become very difficult to maintain my bg. I am not going over 140 but I spend most of my time above 110. Usually in the 120's. I really think my problem is more of an issue with insulin production and less of a resistance problem.

I think you can get used to injecting. I used to be scared but after getting blood drawn on a weekly basis, I have no problems with it if I end up needing to now. I have never had the pen in my hand and had to think about sticking myself with it though so I could be talking at my rear.

Again, I hope it works for you. And remember, we're pulling for you. We're all in this together.

Shanny, Patdart and uttam like this.

i have slowly increased my carbs intake and definately post about my progress on weight.
Thanks

I was the same way when I first started MDI. Now the delay I have is about 5 seconds just to make sure I don't jab a finger instead.

You'll get there!

Happy Birthday!
I am hoping to begin insulin myself in the near future. Tell us how it works out for you!
