Peter2225, the carbs you eat causes your blood glucose to rise. Of course more insulin could help, but it is not good to continue increasing insulin. You might want to consider eating less carbs. As you cut back on carbs, you may have to use less insulin to keep your blood glucose from going too low. Frequent testing will be your best friend.

If you cannot lower your BG enough by minimizing the amount of carbs you eat and have to continue taking insulin, you might benefit by reading "Using Insulin" by John Walsh.

4am and its 8.1. I've been off the wagon for the entire year. Not that I have been eating tons of chocolate or sweets, but I have taken to having carby stuff more frequently than I did last year. I havent been able to adapt to having oopsie bread and the like (too eggy, even though I love eggs) but have promised myself to make some bread from almond flour and coconut flour this weekend. I miss my vegemite. Most of my randoms are around 8, but some go twice that high depending on what I have eaten. Also, I'm still having too much protein. I love it. Sighh.

135 this evening
I made a batch of coconut milk chicken soup and even though it is low carb, I'm sure it is raising my BG. Ate the last of it at noon and won't be making it again!

My Doctor put me on Metformin and I was doing so great with all my readings around a 100, but then I got depressed and bought me a black berry pie. Today it was 160 before dinner so I’m a little upset with myself right now. I wonder if there is a 12 step program for carb addicts.
