My fasting blood sugar was 7.4 yesterday, but today it's 8.8 (Canadian measurement). I didn't pig out or anything. Can severe anxiety cause the jump? I had anxiety while trying to get to bed (and a few hours before that). All I ate was 4 triscuits before bed time.

Anxiety can do that. So can lack of sleep, if anxiety also is keeping you from regular sleep hours.

I didn't sleep well either. I feel a bit better right now, doing my hobbies.

I got up this morning and took my fasting reading, 116, then ate breakfast, low carb chicken/veggie soup leftovers. I spent almost 4 hours working on my garden, lots of lifting and wrestling with a tiller.

Ate lunch about 1:30, just some sausages. I was worn out from the gardening so I took a nap from 3:30 to 5:30. When I woke from the nap I took a shower and while showering my vision started getting spotty and I began developing shakes, both signs of low blood sugar for me historically. Tested when I got out of the shower and I was at 57.

I keep a bag of dark chocolate chips and a bag of pecan halves in my freezer for emergency glucose/snacking respectively. I ate about 2 servings each of chocolate chips and pecans while prepping dinner. Ate a low carb dinner at 6:00. Just tested again and I am at 88.

66 just now, was unusually physically active this morning again, with low/no carb breakfast and lunch.
