Metformin versus Chromium

I was just wondering if anyone has used chromium instead of metformin with any success? If so i would be interested to know what kind and how much? Did it lower your a1c?

mbuster 10-04-2018 13:37

I used it with metformin, but no I couldn't tell it did anything for my BG or A1c, when starting or quitting it. I used chromium picolinate, but don't remember the dosage. Maybe it works better with other supplements than as a stand alone.

Chromium

I'm not sure this'll help, but I tried Chromium WHILE on Metformin and it didn't do anything at all. FWIW, Iodine did/does. But I had my blood iodine level checked first to see whether I needed any.

Be careful with allopathic (modern chemical doctors) drugs. By definition they are controlled dosages of poisons that are meant to affect a beneficial result. But your body still knows they are poisons and that is why you have side and rebound effects. They have their place and have saved my life three times. But they are not medicine. Medicine has side benefits.

This is my long winded way of saying that melform is a poison and you are poisoning yourself by using it. Its side effect include, running down the hall, skin spots, depression , memory loss, cognition loss, permanent hair loss, and on and on and so forth.

When I foolishly took the stuff, my depression was manifested as delusions of persecution. Yup, everyone was picking on me. When I quit the garbage and the dark curtain lifted, I had to apologize to a lot of people. I had been acting like a real jerk.

Chromium is the wrong stuff. You need to look at Vanadyl Sulfate:

Vanadyl Sulfate (a supplimnet) for Blood Glucose transport. I can't post links, so look up the followig articles on pub med dot com:

My two biggest drops where when I stopped metformin (rebound effect) and started Vanadyl.

But here is the kicker. T2 is an injury, not a disease (unless you consider a broken arm a disease, then more power to you). It is caused by the prolonged consumption of unnaturally high glycemic carbohydrates that are not found in nature. These carbs are highly addictive and if you do not discontinue them (what originally injured you), Vanadyl or anything else will not help you. Drugs (poisons) and carbs is slow suicide.

I have been drug free for over five years. Anyone can be drug free. You just have to kick the addition and follow directions. And guess what, one you get semi Ketogenic, your sense of taste returns and food really starts to taste good.

I have a quick primer on how to get drug free if anyone is interested.

Thriving, not just surviving.

Since I can post links now, here are the links to Vanadyl:

ToddAndMargo,

First I want to say that I live a ketogenic lifestyle. I do not take medication and my diabetes has been reversed because of it (not cured)

However, some people can not go ketogenic or live that type of lifestyle and for them, the medicine they take stop them from having major diabetes complications and possible death.

We dont judge here what people do to help them from diabetes. we do recommend that they try to use diet to control their blood sugar but at the end of the day, its their choice and I will say medicine is better than doing nothing at all.

so while I agree with your sentiment about trying to eat in a way to control Diabetes, I support peoples choices to use medication where that is not practical for them.

I do not believe anyone can be drug free. I believe anyone can reduce their medication and get more out of life.

There are many people in this world that dont take medication or change their diet and they find out the hard way what diabetes can do to you

This is not about diabetes, but it is a story about chromium...

In the late 90s, chromium was being touted as a weight-loss supplement based on the possibility that someone that is chromium deficient might be having problems burning fat.

I bought my $30 bottle of promises, and did not experience any benefit.

I had the same result for Chromium. Nothing. Also nothing from cinnamon.

Of interest, Valadium is right next to Chromium on the periodic table.

By the way, Vanadyl Sulphate does not lower your blood sugar. It helps your pancreas repair itself. Once it have doen its job, it provides no further assistance. And IT WILL NOT HELP if you do not remove the insult that caused the injury in the first place. Humans are not designed to consumed high glycemic carbohydrates that are not found in nature.

You should eventually repair yourself, but not to your former glory.
And congratulations. You kicked the addiction and are able to live a healthy life. Sanadyl sulfate will help in the repair BUT only if you stay keto.

By the way, if you get that absolute rubbish (cleaned u the cuss word real well, no?) that Keto is not good for you, the Inuits are totally carnevourous except for pine needles and some lichens the make teas out of for vitamin C.

Oh and be careful, ascorbic acid is NOT vitamin C. It is a piece of vitamin C called a "vitamir". The human body does not syntiasize vitamin C and ascorbic acid goes right throught you. You do need vitamin C.

Vit C without Maltodextrin (glycemic index of 110, higher than glucose):

You are mistaken me if you think I am judging. What you are seeing is toned down absolute righteous anger. The Emergency Room allopath that diagnosed me was the ONLY allopath that gave me HONEST AND ACCURATE information. The GP Allopath I went to smother me in cow manure AT 1000 DOLLARS AN HOUR ($250.00 for 15 minutes).

At lot of people are making a lot on money off of us. T2 is relatively unheard of until Big AG "lobbied" (a nice word for "bribed") the USDA to put grains at the bottom of the food pyramid. They should be at the top if at all. Now one out of eleven have this injury. Cave man did not eat grains. That did not happen until we discovered beer and got too cleaver for our own good and hybridized grains for better beer.

"Healthy Carbs" (whole wheat, brown rice, corn, etc.) is what caused my injury. Healthy Carbs is a lie. There is no such thing. I thought I was doing the right thing. I was lied to.

And speaking of making a lot of money off of us, do you hear the ADA screaming their heads off about this? No? But you do hear them asking for more more to research what is already known. Gee wiz, it just fell out of the sky and hit you on the head. No idea what causes this. Now eat your brown rice.

Agreed. Slow suicide is better than fast suicide.

What ???? Not practical ???? Are you pulling my leg?? Meat, eggs, fish, avocados, almonds, macadamia nuts are available in any supermarket. No one is forcing you to eat grains.

I strongly disagree. Anyone who folows directions can become drug free. This web site will spell it out:

https://www.diabetes-warrior.net/

He was just a tiny few points away from 1000, by the way.

I have lost friends to this. First their legs fall off, then their kidneys blow out, then the arms start to lose feeling, the start to go blind, then the heart attacks (yes plural) finish them off.

Now here is the source of my absolute anger. Information was withheld from me. Are these folks that are still addicted and haven't removed the insult that caused their injury been told the truth or did some [expletive deleted] smother them in cow manure to make money off them. If they have been told the truth and still wish to commit slow suicide, then more power to them. Eat kale for all I care.

But I do draw a moral line if they decide to stay addicted and have made commitments to people around them, especially people that depend on them and love them. Then, cupcake, step up to the plate and be a man. The addiction only took me about three weeks to kick. Okay, now I am judging.

I did not get my information on how to become drug free from my GP allopath or the ADA. He said it was virtually impossible: liar. (I loved his explanation about having to exercising your ass off. At $1000 an hour the conflict-of-interest doctor did not know how the liver worked or deliberately withheld it.) I got the proper information from the Primal and Paloe folks.

Im not going to disagree with most of what you have posted...

but in this forum , we are as passionate as you are. we have all experienced the same thing as you with doctors and being deceived but people here can be confused and lost and many believe what the doctors are telling them

if you want to get people to understand your position and possibly look to make real changes, you should 'encourage' and 'teach' and talk 'to' people and we need to try to keep the anger and forcefulness to a minimum. If someone doesnt understand or agree, they will not do it as a life decision. scaring them wont work if they dont understand and taught.

You opinions, thoughts, research and experience are extremely valuable here I want you to be able to help people that are scared and confused and I know you will be able help many. The trick is to show them the way in a way that works for them.

I appreciate all of your information and hope you continue to provide information and experience in a calm , informative manner.
