Have you heard of "Type 1.5" diabetes, or LADA (Latent Autoimmune Diabetes Mellitus in Adults)? It's just another precise way of referring to the various causes and presentations of diabetes. Regardless of how much more helpful names are as descriptors, but until more is learned about the diabetes in each of us, it's on us to learn how to manage it well or suffer the consequences.

I wish you the best with this, Ratter51. I don't believe there is any convincing those of us here that diabetes is "no big deal" or we wouldn't have changed our lifestyles (successfully) to minimize the damage.

Similarly, there does not seem to be anything we can say to emphasize that time is of the essence for you and that millions of diabetics before you have suffered needlessly for not wanting to accommodate a disease that, unmanaged, will hurt you. We see the evidence of it in ourselves and our family and our friends. It's real. And it will be real to you soon enough.

Maybe it's best to give this a rest till August, when you get your bloodwork done once again. By then someone will have interesting news to report.

What Levels of Blood Sugar Are Dangerous?

Human bodies are wonderfully complex organisms, sometimes to a fault. Itís really hard to say exactly what levels of blood sugar are dangerous unless they are really dangerous.

What we mean by that is healthy individuals can have glucose levels ranging from 60ish to about 140. Things start to get bad when you exceed these number, but symptoms might not become apparent until youíve reached really dangerous territory. Thatís why itís important to measure.

Well, according to the chart found and posted and based on today’s and a couple weeks ago last fasting test mine was 140 this am and 145? A couple weeks ago. Looking at the green chart, I am borderline. That’s with getting epidural steroid injection. Plus a packet of steroids a week earlier.Steroids are suppose to make reading go higher Right? Got the impression from this site that my numbers are out of control and they are not. The doctors say the same thing. My doctor said exactly, your A1C 7.1 is well controlled. But stay away from Pizza and pasta. Also the ER doctor and urgent care Dr said not bad number. The one doctor said it’s still pre Diabetes as I posted.
These doctors have college degrees in Medicine and I have to go by what the medical doctors say. My regular doctor said you have Diabetes but very minor.
He called it diet controlled Diabetes. That would fit in under cluster 5. I guess I am the only one making a big deal about almost nothing (minor Diabetes). Age related Diabetes that is. It’s senseless me wasting everyone’s time here.but I appreciate the various responses.

We will see you when it gets worse and symptoms start appearing and you'll have new challenges because of it.

Its progressive. you'll be back with more for us soon

OK I will thanks. Let’s see what the next bloodwork says. If it goes bad I will most certainly start to make changes. I heard the super market A1C tests are inaccurate??? They are expensive I think $20 and up. One time use?
